Hello my loves!
As there is only a few months left of school, I figured I better get at it with my college blog posts! Now, I for one, totally understand the excitement and buzz that comes along with going away to school and wanting to buy any/everything to make your dorm room absolutely fabulous! However, I am here today to stop you in your tracks (not really, these items are just what I personally didn’t need/use).
Last year before starting school, I never thought to also read posts about what I DON’T need for my dorm, only sticking to the lists of things I need; thus going further and further into dorm room debt. Hopefully this post can help some of you out while deciding what to buy for your up and coming dorm room. Good luck!
What I Wish I Didn’t Buy:
1.) The most expensive Keurig: If your school is anything like mine, coffee is accessible just about anywhere you turn around. I could have opted for a much cheaper one like this one here. While going home on Christmas break, I took my Keurig back home where it currently is and I just grab coffee here around campus since it is included in my meal plans.
2.) Bed risers: Although these may seem like a great invention, they honestly don’t make that much of a difference, so they were returned back to Target, as I decided to live without them. Also, if you are able to, lofting your bed is a GREAT idea, especially for saving space in your tiny dorm (check out my dorm tour).
3.) An alarm clock: If you use your Iphone as an alarm, then spending the extra money on an alarm clock is unnecessary. Just remember to plug your phone in at night and you’ll be good to go!
4.) Iron/Ironing Board: Once inside these tiny dorm rooms, there isn’t much room for anything, especially not an ironing board. Purchase you some Downy Wrinkle Release instead!
Thanks so much for reading! I plan to continue this college series here on my blog. Be sure to let me know if you have any requests for posts and I will get right on that for ya! XOXO
