Am I the only one that is super excited that midterm week is almost upon us?! Now, don’t think I’m crazy, I am just SO READY FOR SUMMER!!! I am over walking to class, constantly being cold, wearing layers upon layers everyday, and eating the food at my school. However, in order to enjoy summer, I first need to pass all my classes. Thus meaning that I have to study and pass all midterms (YUCK). So, today I am here to share with you how to make this time a little less painful. Keep on reading! 💜
First things first: Take care of your body!
Eating healthy and making sure you get enough sleep is so crucial for not just school, but your body/everyday life. Yes, yes, I’m sure you hear it all the time, but if you are one of those typical college kids that goes to bed after midnight, your test scores are going to show it. When studying and preparing, eating lots of fruits/vegetables will provide you with enough energy to get the job done! Also, be sure to remember to eat breakfast every morning of your test days! My favorite fruit to eat are lemons; they are so tasty and pump me right up with energy!
When studying, making note cards, and reading over notes, highlighters and bright colors will help you to remember more, especially if you are using multiple different colors, as you will be able to associate each color with what you’re trying to remember. They have come out with lots of cool colors of these lately, check them out here!
Listen to music
Now, this little tip does not work for me. I have always been one that needs complete silence to focus and study, but a lot of people do enjoy/study better with music. I would advise to listen to music without words, maybe, as it may confuse and put new words into your head while trying to study. LOL Try this playlist!
I enjoy using Quizlet when studying for any/all tests because there are so many options of doing so. To make an account, it is completely free! It gives you the option to search for what you are looking for and studying, or you can even make your own set of words/phrases you need to remember. The thing on there that I have found helps me most is not notecards, but the matching game that you can choose to play! The site also gives you the option to play games, take practice quizzes, and practice spelling out words.
This is my favorite way to prepare/keep calm during stressful times. Exercising is such a great way to have fun and get out of your head, plus there are so many ways to do so! Riding bikes, going for a jog, hitting up the gym, or even going on a walk is sure to help clear your mind and stress.
Study days before
This is one thing that I really need to work on: NOT CRAMMING! Studying a little bit each and every day will ensure that you will remember the information much more clearly.
Try to relax
Over analyzing is a very easy thing to do, especially as a college student. However, it is very important that you try your best to just breathe and relax, as you will do fine; I have faith in you! 😊 My best friend and I attend yoga twice a week and we can both say that it has helped us to relax a great amount. Plus, it is a way to exercise, BAM a two in one. 😜
Just remember that you can do this!
If you have any other ways that you like to study, be sure to leave them down below! Also, follow me on all my social media so we can be FRIENDS! XOXO
