Today, on this lovely Sunday, I am bringing you a DIY! This is the first one on my blog, but DIYs have been my life for years! Although this is the first one, I plan on doing many, many more as I love them. For a while now, I have wanted to get a cute license plate frame/cover for my car, but have refused to spend $15 on each (front and back), so I have been putting it off. While scavenging in the garage yesterday for gloves (I planted flowers!), I came across my sister’s old license plate cover that she had on her first car. My first thought was to completely re-do it and make it my own, which is just what I did! I love this project because you literally can do ANYTHING to do to customize it to it’s full potential. Be sure to tag me in photos if you decide to recreate!
Things you will need:
- License plate cover
- Paint or glitter
- Hot glue
- Fake flowers from the dollar store
Time: 1 hr
- Purchase cheap, plain cover or use an old one. Be sure to clean the whole surface and get your materials ready.
- Paint the surface white, like I did, to ensure it will have a seamless look under whatever you decide to put on it. I had glitter laid out that I was going to use, but decided to use just the flowers, but glitter would be super cute, as well!
- Pluck off all of the fake flowers from the stems and cut off the yellow ends with scissors (this is the easiest part, I promise).
Voila! Now you have a super cute, personalized license plate cover! You could also make this for friends/family that you know will be getting their licenses soon or just for yourself, which is what I did. 😋
