If you have ever tried growing out your hair, I am sure that you have felt about how I am feeling right now. My hair has grown quite a bit since March, but I am ready to have my super long, blonde, and strong locks again! I recently went pretty much full blonde and am so intrigued at the thought of growing it out yet again! In order to do so, there are a few tricks to help speed up the process of hair growth: i.e take better care of your hair.
I have almost always washed my hair on a daily basis, as I always thought it was dirty and gross to go a few days without a wash, but over the last few years, I have realized that that is not the truth whatsoever. Having your hair be somewhat dirty for a few days is very beneficial in all ways. Constantly washing your hair is stripping it of all of its natural oils, which is what could be leaving your hair dry and prone to breakage. If you are one that gets color in your hair frequently like I do, you will experience the color fading faster than it would if the hair was let alone for a few days at a time. Surprisingly enough, washing your hair crazy often could be the cause of those split ends on your beautiful head. Now, I’m not saying go 12 days without a thorough wash, every other day is even better than every day. You could even try working your way up a day each week to reach a point where you’d like to get to. Do that each week and sort of train your hair. I hear that it takes about 28 days to fully train your hair to the time desired (not washing for the same amount of time each week) without experiencing crazy amounts of “grease.”
I have finally worked my way down to washing my hair about every four days and let me tell you: I love it! I have noticed that the shine stays in my hair, instead of magically disappearing. I have a lot more volume, especially in my roots (which could just be the dry shampoo). Plus, my showers go by super quick!
As I have come a long way with my relationship with my hair, I have learned a few pointers here and there that have helped me out a lot!
DRY SHAMPOO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!
Picking out the dry shampoo that works for you can be severely overwhelming. I have come into contact with an article that could help you out a lot! Reviews.com did a piece all about the top 6 dry shampoos that were tested among 54 bloggers. The article is a super fun and informative read and is something you should check out if you are trying to lessen the amount of washing.
Batiste (which is #2 on the list btw) has always been the top #1 on my list of favorite dry shampoos. Not only is the price amazing, but it never leaves any residue, nasty smells, or signs of product being on my hair. My favorite scent out of the collection is clean, but there are a ton more.
A trick that I have learned and use weekly is to apply dry shampoo on the second day after a wash before bed, as the product will have a great amount of time to fully sink in there and hit every space. I LOVE this hack and it has saved me so much time in the mornings, as I can just brush, style, and go.
When your hair is braided back or in some sort of style, the appearance of having dirtier hair is harder to pick up on, rather than having your locks hanging down around your hair, showing off that you really haven’t washed your hair in a few days. A braid is my go-to, but there are thousands of styles searchable on Pinterest. When having un-washed hair, I can relate to the lack of motivation as you question if you should wash your hair before you leave the house or not, but throw some dry shampoo on, doing a crazy awesome hairstyle, and walk out of your house feeling confident and happy!
I am not normally one to wear a baseball cap, but I know that it is highly common, especially in today’s society. It is almost impossible to not see someone around you constantly that doesn’t have a hat on. Plus, there are so many cute and trendy designs out right now. I’ve been enjoying seeing how many styles and personalities can go into those baseball hats that they are making nowadays. How fun, right?!
I hope you all have a great week!!
