Happy Saturday friends!
Growing up in the Midwest, you think that I would be used to our crazy weather right now, but that is not the case. The other day we were dealing with freezing temperatures and then the next day is warm enough out for a light jacket. As I am sure that most of you are dealing with this difficult time of year right now when getting dressed in the morning, I wanted to share a few tips today to make your life a little bit easier when picking out your daily outfits.
For today’s outfit adventures, I knew that I would have to pick transitional pieces since we were making a trip to the dog park in 50-degree weather. I am just happy that it’s getting to the time where I don’t have to be completely bundled head to toe each day. The outfit that I picked out today is super casual and very versatile. This is the type of outfit that I wear almost every day: jeans and a cute, but casual top.
The first thing I must say about this outfit is that every piece was so affordable. My grey long sleeve and my navy vest are both from Old Navy. I got this vest on sale for $10 and I am so glad that I grabbed it when I did. It is super thick and amazing quality.
My jeans are from American Eagle and if you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t, you totally should), I am sure that you have seen these multiple times. I have discovered that American Eagle jeans are the only jeans that I enjoy wearing and purchasing. Where do you all buy your jeans from?
My shoes are casual boat shoes. I picked these up from Academy Sports and refer to them as my “knock-off Sperries” because that is exactly what they are. I only spent $20 on them and am so glad I went with this cheaper option because I don’t take the greatest care of them, however; they are very comfy and match pretty much any outfit.
Back in December, I picked up my brown tote/purse from TJMaxx. It was under $30 and so far, has been holding up great. I love the size, however, it is something new to me. I am used to crossbody bags, but with this big guy, I can lug around my computer or camera equipment, which really comes in handy. My necklace shown is a cheapy from Forever 21. I have had it for a long time and I want to say that this is the second time I have ever worn it. Jewelry is not something I wear every day, but I felt that it fit great with today’s look.
In this type of weather, I feel that light outfits like this work great for days like today. Throwing on a long sleeve with a vest or a cardigan works great as a transition outfit. All of these pieces are staples and must-haves for your closet and are great to come out in casual outfits like this.
